i have lost the dense, multi-layered richness of our moments together. if i try really hard, i can remember their touch, sometimes I am sure even that is my imagination. as time greedily moves forward, what is not lost is the delicate substance of their love which covers me like sweet protection.

From the pocket of her dress, Rain pulls out pieces of bread which she holds up to the sky. Ella watches in amazement as a tiny bird lands on her palm and picks at the crumbs. Frustrated, Ella cannot read Rain’s mind or her caretaker’s. Another mystery. After much contemplation, she thinks that they might be wearing a magical ward that blocks her, but she no way of knowing if this is true. Even the mind of the servant who brings her food is blocked from her. The caretaker motions for Rain to come along that playtime is over. As Rain turns to walk away, she reaches up and pulls the ribbon free. Ella’s heart breaks as Rain disappears down the path. grandbaby and i took the cameras to point molate to see what beauty we could capture. what i can never capture into an image the way being there made me feel. the quiet, the peace, the wonderfulness of the moment exists only in my memory until i return, but wait that will be another exquisite moment.
